Soccer Coach and Two Players Injured

Kalispell, Montana - August 20, 2024

Yesterday a soccer coach and two players from Glacier High School were struck by lightning while practicing. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM, during a thunderstorm that rolled through the Kalispell area.

According to Kalispell Police Chief Jordan Venezio, all three victims were transported to Logan Health Medical Center. One of the players is in critical condition, while the other two are in stable condition.

The names of the victims have not yet been released. Glacier High School Principal Brad Holloway released a statement expressing his condolences to the victims and their families.

The incident is still under investigation. However, it is believed that the victims were struck by lightning while standing under a tree.

Lightning is a dangerous weather phenomenon that can cause serious injuries or death. It is important to take precautions to avoid being struck by lightning, especially during thunderstorms.
